Conceptual Pinup

Conceptual pinup art takes the beauty of the female figure and surrealist imagery to express an idea about the material and spiritual worlds. Historically, the pinup tradition celebrates the female form rooted in the earthly — glamour, pomp, eroticism. This work builds on that tradition by utilizing it as a vessel for higher communication that goes “beneath the skin.”  Each work sparks a conversation about a spiritual truth, a deep social observation, or a philosophical question.

The contradictions are no accident; it is a language of symbols with a logic that endows the infinite with a body, a face, an expression.

The femme at the center of each piece is a cosmic director of the raw, mysterious, irrational life force; the recurring figures — an animal, an object, a gesture — tell a story of her choice. Eroticism combined with a measure of class and a dash of  humor balance the seriousness of the human drama with bit of spice.  The work is meant to be seen with eyes of the spirit and listened with the patience of the soul.
